I actually really like the font and design of the bottle |
It's a pretty average-sized bottle, but contained a good amount of polish that hadn't hardened or glooped-up or anything. The application brush was a good shape too. Overall, it was just really easily to apply, and although it was the kind of polish you really needed two coats of to build up colour, the result was pleasingly pigmented and opaque.
I did use a top coat ^.^ |
After twenty-four hours, only one nail had chipped (the ring finger, see photo), and it was nothing major. It took three days before I felt inclined to remove it (and I remove polish the minute any chipping becomes noticeable). For me, that's about as long as Color Institute or 17 polishes last - doesn't last as long as Barry M's, but good.
Overall, I was surprised by the quality - look out for it. I'd be interested to see if the other Next nail polishes are of this quality, or if this was a one off.
Quick Tip: Guys, PLEASE remember a base coat. And when you put it on, wait for it to dry completely before applying your main coat (particularly if you're using something bright). I stupidly put on some polish recently almost immediately after applying the base coat and I might as well not have used a base, because my nails got stained a subtle ugly yellow around the edges that took a while to fade. Yuck!
Your base doesn't have to be something fancy - I'm loving the base from the Boots essentials range, which is cheap as chips. Any clear polish will do, though. It doesn't have to be specifically marketed as a base coat to work.
